Orchid Show

The one place that “more is more” works is with flowers. This year’s theme at The NY Botanical Garden is Thailand – elephant topiary, orchid-strewn pagoda roofs, displays of Thai customs, orchids in the pool and on trees and in pots and mass displays. The Enid Haupt Conservatory is given over to the exhibit, so you can also savor the steamy rainforest and hot desert displays. Our visit was topped off with a striking phalaenopsis and a maidenhair fern in the Shop (at a reasonable price) and a first-rate lunch in the walking-distance Hudson Garden Grill (reservations advised). The show is on until April 9.
