Sushi Ishikawa

Once in a while, we find a restaurant so comfortable in its own skin that we just want to return to it again and again. Such is the case with Sushi Ishikawa, 419 East 74th Street, a small and beautiful 24-seat restaurant that’s just a few months old, but feels like it’s always been there.

Simply designed and built with high-quality materials, the tone is set for the 12-course dinner that is beautifully prepared and professionally served. The staff is nice, quiet and kind. Each course is small, so it is reasonable to have 12 courses over a two hour period. While there are no choices, servers discuss what the chef will be preparing and if any adjustments are necessary, no problem. After taxes and tip figure about $250/couple and, frankly, it’s worth it.
