They’ve done a lousy job marketing the new subway on the East Side. Sure, there is interesting art in the stations, but that’s not why we take subways. Most of the news was about three new stations – at 96th St, 86th St and 63rd St. What it didn’t say clearly is that the Q line is the fastest way to travel to the remote Upper East Side (10 minutes from Second Ave to Times Square) and connects with almost every other subway in Manhattan. And it doesn’t stop at 63rd St – it goes all the way to Coney Island. Kick yourself for not buying an apartment when it was cheap.

  1. Ken, sister who lives on 66th and Second. Here’s what she said:

I’ve always taken the 6 from 68th and lex to astor place. Fast, but a packed, narrow train. Now, I can take the Q from 69th and 2nd to Union Square. Nice, wide, clean train and can get a seat because there are only 2 stops before mine, so not crowded yet. It’s like having a new toy
