The Wrecking Crew

My husband and I had a busy Saturday planned so we went to a 10:45am screening of “The Wrecking Crew,” a fabulous documentary on the professional musicians who played on the albums of the Beach Boys, the Byrds, Sonny and Cher, etc., in the ’60s. Granted it’s a little decadent to go to the movies at that hour but it was a totally enthralling parade through scores of old favorites and sweet interviews with the unsung heroes behind some of these famous groups. I believe it was ten years in the making, which becomes obvious from the extensive information conveyed. Go see it before it leaves the IFC Center, Sixth Ave. at West Third St.. Four stars (and five if one loves documentaries).
