19141122.jpgThere’s a gem of an exhibit on Turner’s great port paintings at The Frick Collection. Two huge portraits of Dieppe and Cologne, together for the first time, plus an unfinished third canvas. But the stars for us were four smaller dazzling oils on a facing wall that radiated (there is no other word) light. Don’t miss the back stories on the identification labels, including Agrippa and her sons Caligula and Nero! There are also several dozen lovely water colors in the adjacent room. Until May 14.
